FEEDBACK
"I want to thank ...the dedicated committee members who have given me such support
and recognition... I intend to bring the manuscript to the S.B. Writer's Conference, the
tuition for which will be paid by a portion of your award. This comes at an ideal time.
The grace, intelligence and sensitivity with which the process was conducted is a model
for others... It was a pleasure to share Father's Day with you. Mr. Profant, it appears,
was a wonderful man with a vision. I hope we all bring honor and a small slice of
brilliance to pass along his torch." - Jeanne Umana
"To be
accepted by my community as a stage actor is truly awe-inspiring.
To be honored by a prestigious foundation for my passion is an
amazing honor. To be able to communicate the stories that must
be told is a responsibility. I thank you, from the bottom of my
heart, for giving me that chance. Again, I wish to express my
sincere gratitude for your kind and generous support of my artistic
and academic passions. Our community is extremely fortunate to
have an amazing organization like The John E. Profant Foundation for
the Arts. With Much Appreciation", Geren Piltz
"As summertime comes to an end I'm preparing to start teaching
music again next week at the two elementary schools where I taught
last year. Last year was my best year ever! A large
part of it was because of the wonderful information, techniques, games
and contacts I met through the Education Through Music course.
Thank you for making it possible for me to participate with a
grant from the John E. Profant Foundation. I have been offered
other teaching positions as well because of the success of my programs
so I'll have the opportunity to bring music to even more students.
It has been exciting and extremely rewarding. Education
Through Music was extremely valuable and offered me many new tools
which enhanced my program greatly." Dave Smith
"I hope that one day my photographs can show a child 100 years
from now what life was like at the turn of the 21 century. Sometimes
words alone can't describe or show something that a photograph can.
I hope that with my pictures I can somehow make a difference,
whether that means to emotionally move someone or really makes a
difference in someone's life." Devina Hernandez
"I really had a fantastic time at Exploring Ballet with the
Suzanne Farrell Program. Suzanne is such an inspiring
teacher...I am so happy I had the opportunity to work with her! I
truly believe it helped drastically in improving my skills as a
dancer." (After her trip to New York was made possible.)

"The John E. Profant Foundation for the Arts scholarship enabled
me to attend the Youth America Grand Prix dance competition finals in
New York City with my teacher Ellen Schipper. This ballet
competition gave me the opportunity to be recognized by world-renowned
teachers and choreographers. It was inspiring to see the quality
of international dancers." Laura Schmitz 2002
"I wish to thank each of you for selecting me for the first place
award in literature with my book The Shredded Mettle of The Heart:
First Chamber. the award helped pay for most of the printing
costs, and for that I am eternally grateful." Joseph Gallo
"Receiving a scholarship from the Profant Foundation was truly an
honorable and inspiring occasion. The importance of the award
goes beyond the financial aspect, which has allowed me to purchase
necessary musical accessories and recording software, for it has
helped drive me with the motivation and confidence needed to pursue my
musical endeavors. Thank You." Sam Williams
"UPON RECEIVING THE PROFANT SCHOLARSHIP FOR DANCE PERFORMANCE I
WAS TRAVELING IN SPAIN AND AUDITIONING AT THE LABAN CENTRE, LONDON. I
TOOK THIS JOURNEY AS A DOORWAY TO INTERNATIONAL DANCE AND IN HOPES OF
FINDING MY NEXT PROFESSIONAL STEP IN THE WORLD OF MOVEMENT. THE
PROFANT SCHOLARSHIP HELPED ME PAY FOR THIS TRIP; INCLUDING MY GRADUATE
AUDITION IN LONDON AND THE EXPERIENCE OF TAKING VARIOUS CLASSES
ABROAD WHICH HAVE INSPIRED AND ENRICHED ME AS A PERFORMER, TEACHER AND
CHOREOGRAPHER. I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL AND HONORED TO HAVE RECEIVED
THE 2002 DANCE PERFORMANCE SCHOLARSHIP. IT HAS AIDED ME GREATLY IN MY
MATURITY AS AN ARTIST AND MY RELATIONSHIP WITH DANCE AS AN
INTERNATIONAL TEACHER OF PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING.
THANK
YOU," CYBIL GILBERTSON
"The Profant Award was an honor and greatly appreciated. It was
instrumental in helping to fund an out of town exhibit." Phoebe
Brunner
"The award was very important to me because I felt honored to
receive recognition for my artistic abilities and it will definitely
help me when I attend college." Malynda Hale
"Specific to The Profant Foundation, I found them to be too
nice and too accessible, their selection process too uncomplicated,
their relationship to the artist, too supportive and their celebration
of the artist's work, too empowering to be anything other than an
anomaly. Still, as one recipient of the award, It is my humble opinion
that the arts would truly flourish if this granting behavior were
allowed to become the norm!" Respectfully, Ken Cohen |
