FANS FEATURED ON COAST VILLAGE ROAD

Eliane Alexandre of Eliane Alexandre International, Ltd. is helping artists of all ages by displaying decorative fans in a rotating gallery at her Montecito beauty salon. Through a partnership with The John E. Profant Foundation for the Arts, proceeds from the monthly silent auction will build the scholarship fund benefiting artists, dancers, musicians, actors, writers and filmmakers.  In the past five years, this nonprofit organization has given over $100,000 to Santa Barbara County developing artists. *   These awards are made possible through community support of the annual Fiesta Finale and the Fan Project.

Eliane, a great supporter of Fiesta Finale, participated as an artist in the Fan Project by donating a decorated fan for the preview party held at Saks Fifth Avenue’s State Street store last July.  She recently offered a well-lit white wall in her salon as a gallery for year-round fan exhibits.  These decorative accessories are perfectly compatible with the colorful ruffled Fiesta skirts on display near the salon’s entrance. Clients can be transformed here, as this is not only a full service salon and Montecito’s headquarters for Fiesta fashion accessories but also handles advance reservations for the Fiesta Finale Gala to be held August 7th.

This month, a fan painted by local artist Cheryl Ambrecht, is featured at the Eliane Alexandre salon. The artist’s stunning artistic creation features the Santa Barbara Mission, which stands out against a midnight-blue background. Cheryl explains, “The Mission is a special place for me in that I have deep feelings about what it represents to the community. A simple church building it is not.  The deep roots, its obvious spirituality, and the sense of its meaning to all who love Santa Barbara are the essence of what I wanted to capture.”  Cheryl is a successful graphic designer who has donated her work for many charitable causes.  “I retired from Northrop Corporation and moved to Santa Barbara to be with my new husband John, who has truly encouraged me to go back to painting.  He is my strongest support system and keeps reminding me of my priorities, painting, painting, painting.”  Currently, the bid on the fan stands at $600.

Elaine Alexandre International, Ltd., situated at 1250 Coast Village Road, is open Tuesdays through Saturdays.  For an appointment at this full service salon and spa, featuring world award winning stylists, or to place a bid on the exquisite displayed fan, call (805) 969-5071.

*The Profant scholarship application period is February-April 30, 2005 and guidelines are posted at www.profant.org.
